Grand Forks Chorales invites former members to join upcoming reunion concert to celebrate 35th anniversary

Former members of the Grand Forks Chorales are invited to sing in a special reunion concert Nov. 3 to celebrate the group's 35th anniversary.

Reunion activities, which begin at 2 p.m., will include rehearsals and a dinner before the evening concert. Former members are asked to register by Oct. 27. Cost is $25 per person.

All activities will take place at United Lutheran Church, 324 Chestnut St., Grand Forks.

"We're inviting everyone who has ever sung with the Chorale to join us for this special reunion concert," said Valerie Jensen, president of the Grand Forks Chorales board of directors. "It will be a great opportunity to socialize, reconnect with other singers, share memories, and sing with current members."

At the concert, former members will join the Master Chorale for a portion of the program, Jensen said.

"The concert will feature some of the most popular selections from our past performances," she said.

"This is an exciting time for the Chorales," the group's artistic director Dean Jilek said. "We're celebrating 35 years of performing quality music and hosting artists from around the nation."

The reunion concert will "reunite the performers and conductors of the past in a spirit of thanksgiving for their past leadership and performances," Jilek said.

The Chorales organization is dedicated to supporting the music education system in the Grand Forks region, raising money for charitable causes and providing artistry for the benefit of everyone in the area, he said.
