GRAND FORKS — A snow sculpture created for a downtown Grand Forks winter celebration to be held next week was unveiled Wednesday afternoon.
It's a block in the shape of Grand Forks County and bears the inscription "#GFIsCooler." Artists worked eight hours to make the sculpture. It will be on display for the next week, providing ample time to get a selfie with it for social media.
The unveiling is part of the downtown Grand Forks Coolerama celebration next week. The winter celebration will feature ice skating, broomball, snow volleyball, and a "few other surprises," said Kyle Slivnik, one of the artists — or the Snowkitects — behind the sculpture.
Coolerama starts next Wednesday at 11 a.m. Free hot cocoa will also be available.
