The public is invited to the opening reception at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, of the expanded "Art of Wellness" exhibit at the Altru Professional Center, 4440 S. Washington St.
The exhibit, which opened in March on the second floor, has expanded to the first floor. The exhibit and reception are presented by PAC in partnership with Altru Health System.
About 60 additional pieces are on display, including new artwork by six regional artists, in a gallery that was established by the Public Arts Commission. Some of the art is on loan from the collections of Madelyn Camrud, Ross Rolshoven, Reg Urness and Bruce Gjovig, all of Grand Forks.
In recent years, PAC members have been seeking more public settings where emerging and established artists may display their work. The PAC’s mission is to enhance public art offerings in Greater Grand Forks to create a more vibrant cultural and artistic life for residents and visitors.
The group also opened the “Art and Artists Among Us” exhibition in May at the Alerus Center.
