North Dakota auditor space to display photography exhibit
BISMARCK - The North Dakota Council on the Arts, along with the State Auditor's office are exhibiting the works of Bismarck artist Johnathon Campbell at the Capitol in Bismarck during the months of January, February and March. Campbell's work is on display in the auditor’s third floor office.
As a teenager living on the family farm north of Bismarck, Campbell was introduced to the basics of photography and darkroom printing by his mother. He carried that interest to the University of North Dakota, where he earned a bachelor's degree in visual art.
In 2014, after a 20-year hiatus, Campbell picked up the camera again and began re-exploring the manipulation of light. His current area of expression is long-exposure photography, with an emphasis on creative light painting.
