Dwight Yoakam is coming to Grand Forks in August, and tickets for the Alerus Center concert go on sale April 12.

Yoakam is scheduled to perform Aug. 29 in the Alerus Center Ballroom, according to a press release. Tickets start at $35 and can be purchased in person at the box office or on Ticketmaster.com.

Yoakam is a 21-time Grammy Award winner, with 12 gold albums and nine platinum or multi-platinum albums, the release said. Yoakam is known for his bluegrass-country-style music. His latest album "Swimmin' Pools, Movie Stars..." was released in 2016.

Yoakam has also acted in over 40 feature films, the release said.

In April, the Hugo's Toughest Monster Truck Tour, Harlem Globe Trotter, Scheel's Easter Egg Scramble and Jo Koy will be held at the Alerus Center. Two Friends and Cheap Trick will perform over the summer, and Comic Con will debut at the end of September. Tickets are available online or at the box office.
