Brass players and percussionists of the Greater Grand Forks Symphony Orchestra will present music by renowned American composer Aaron Copland and others at 7 p.m. Saturday at United Lutheran Church in Grand Forks.
The concert will be conducted by the symphony's maestro, Alejandro Drago, who also is a faculty member of the UND Music Department.
The program includes Copland's "Fanfare for the Common Man," as well as other music for brass ensembles by Gabrieli, Cheetham, Adler and Palestrina.
The performing ensemble includes four trumpet, trombone and French horn players; two tuba players; and three percussionists.
Concert tickets are $25 for adults; $20 for seniors; $15 for students and military; and $5 for music students and children 15 and younger.
A pre-concert dinner, where patrons can meet and mingle with the conductor and brass instrumentalists, is set for 5 p.m. Saturday at Ely's Ivy restaurant, 22 S. 3rd St. Tickets are $45 for the dinner and concert or $25 for dinner only.
