The Grand Forks Public Arts Commission's board has appointed Ra'Chel Alexander as executive director.
In the role, she'll oversee the development of public art projects, art exhibitions and cultural events, according to a press release issued by the commission.
She'll also help with outreach efforts to boost participation in the arts, the release stated.
Alexander currently serves as president of ArtNest ND, a nonprofit arts organization aimed at helping young artists.
"Ra'Chel is an artist who has passion for the arts and been immersed in art for several years," said Public Arts Commission Chairman Mike Kuntz. "Plus she has years working in business understanding the importance of customer service, marketing, communications, budgets, and timelines. She will bring an energetic entrepreneurial approach to taking PAC to the next level."
Formed in 2014, the Public Arts Commission is aimed at creating a "more vibrant cultural and artistic life" for residents throughout the greater Grand Forks area, according to the release.
