Some of the most iconic bands in the history of rock music will come to life on the Alerus Center stage Saturday night.
Hairball will play songs from Van Halen, Kiss, Motley Crue, Queen, Journey, Prince and Aerosmith.
The band will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Alerus Center. Tickets to the show are $20.
Happy, the band’s lead guitarist and front man, called Hairball’s performance a “rock ‘n’ roll magic show” where the performance transforms from one band to the next.
“Hairball represents a day when rock ‘n’ roll was king,” he said. “It’s the music that excited me when I was younger.”
He said the band tries to stay as close to the original songs as they can in order to preserve the spirit and energy of that music.
Some of that spirit and energy includes make-up, costumes, lights, video, smoke and pyrotechnics.
“We are celebrating the showmanship and love by our rock ‘n’ roll forefathers,” he said. “We’re very happy to be doing what we’re doing. We think this music will stay around like Elvis’s music has. He will never stop being cool and neither will this music.”
Along with covering many of the most famous rock bands of all-time, Hairball has also played alongside the likes of Dee Snider and Alice Cooper, the latter calling the group the “best cover band I have ever seen,” according to Hairball’s website.
Along with tributes to classic artists, Hairball also recently released their first single, “Make Some Noise.” The song is available on iTunes.
