Up-and-coming women's wear apparel designer Anna Hovet, a Grand Forks native, will show her spring/summer 2011 collection during a fashion show Dec. 17 at Level 10 Martini Lounge and host a fall/winter 2010 collection trunk show Dec. 18 at LA Rie Boutique in Grand Forks.
The live runway show at 8 p.m. Dec. 17 at Level 10 will feature local models with hair and makeup styled by Rhapsody Spa and Salon, a news release said.
Guests will have the opportunity to purchase the clothing and meet the designer at the trunk show from noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 18 at LA Rie Boutique.
The Anna Hovet fall/winter 2010 line presents reversible jersey dresses, draped sweatshirts, high-collared wool jackets and leggings. Inspired by European street wear fashion and 1910s women's wear, the fall and winter line includes multifunctional outerwear and Hovet's signature color-blocking.
Hovet's fashion line is available in boutiques across the Midwest and online at www.annahovet.com. In Grand Forks, Anna Hovet designs are sold exclusively at LA Rie Boutique. The young, contemporary line retails for $49 to $280 and is described as comfortably chic.
Hovet, 25, launched her own line of women's casual wear and was chosen as one of six emerging designers for the Chicago Fashion Incubator, working out of Macy's on State Street, where her resources included workspace, education about the business of fashion and mentoring in launching her career.
Hovet, born and raised in Grand Forks, graduated from Red River High School in 2003 and attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she studied design, patternmaking, illustration and fine art and earned her bachelor's degree.
