Dr. Merwin and Myrna Lyng, Mayville, N. D., and Richard and Susan Savolainen, Lake Elmo, Minn., announce the engagement of their children, John Lyng and Megan Savolainen.
John, a graduate of May-Port CG High School, earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Mayville (N. D.) State University. He went on to graduate from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Grand Forks, N. D., in 2005. He completed his residency in emergency medicine and a fellowship in disaster medicine at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, N. Y. John is an emergency physician and Medical Director of Emergency Medical Services at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, Minn.
Megan, a graduate of Eau Claire (Wis.) Memorial High School, completed her B. A. in psychology and management studies at St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minn. She completed a master's degree in organizational psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology in San Francisco. She is a change management lead on an HR technology implementation team at Target headquarters in Minneapolis.
A September 14, 2013 wedding is planned in Minneapolis.
