When detective Lloyd Halvorson learned that Brian Erickstad and Robert Lawerence were wanted for questioning, he knew exactly where to go -- the corner of Sweet and 7th in downtown Bismarck.
The little house there served as home to Robert Lawrence, other adults and a questionable number of teens, runaways and small-time criminals.
It should have been easy to find answers. All they had to do was interview a few teenagers, friends of the suspects and police would learn what happened.
All police needed was some cooperation and they would learn who may have been involved. And, most urgent and important, where were bodies of Gordon and Barbara Erickstad? It should have been easy.
But it wasn't easy. And then a woman rushes into the Bismarck Police Department at 4 a.m. fearing for her own life. She has more information about the homicides.
