St. Anne's Living Center is hosting its annual rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.
The sale "is going to be huge," said Sister Christina Neumann, a St. Anne's staff member.
"It's a good thing we're expanding to two days this year," Neumann said. "We're getting a lot of nice items. We have a wide variety-from household items to toys to clothing, you name it. There will be many great buys."
"This is the largest rummage sale in the history of St. Anne's, which is at least 65 years," said Activities Director Paulla Solem. "If you need it, I'm sure we have it."
Some people think that the rummage sale items here are donated by residents, but that's not the case, Solem said. "All items have been donated by the community and St. Anne's employees."

From 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, everything will be half price and shoppers can fill a bag with clothing for $3, Solem said.
Proceeds from the sale will "support our mission of serving the elderly and disabled" at St. Anne's Living Center, Neumann said. The facility, located at 524 N. 17th St., is home "for people who can't live independently safely."
Funds will be used to provide nursing services and employ care aides who help residents with personal needs, Neumann said, but priority will be given to the facility's activities program.
