After almost 16 months, noontime indoor sit-down meals will resume next week at the Grand Forks Senior Center, and will be offered along with the drive-thru meal pickup service.

Indoor seated dining will begin Tuesday, July 13. Meals will be served from noon to 12:15 p.m. Guests are welcome to stay and enjoy their meals after 12:15 p.m., but serving will stop promptly at 12:15 p.m., said Jami Schumacher, public relations manager for the center. Only one entre option will be available at this time.

Those who wish to dine inside should not arrive at the center before 11:50 a.m., because of the extent of traffic in the parking lot for the drive-thru meal pickup service, Schumacher said.

The Senior Center has been providing only drive-thru pickup meals during the pandemic.

Drive-thru meals will continue to be available weekdays from 11:30 a.m. to noon.

The indoor and pickup meals are available for a suggested donation of $4.25 for a person 60 and older and their spouse of any age, Schumacher said.

Beginning July 1, people who participate in activities at the Senior Center or have a sit-down meal are asked to scan in their Grand Forks Senior Center key tag. Those who don’t have a key tag, or have lost it, should stop by the front desk. You can sign in on the center’s computers by using your first name and your phone number.

Frozen meals are also available for people who are 60 and older.

Home-delivered meals may be arranged by calling the Meals on Wheels coordinator at (701) 757-2006.
