Lucky North Dakotan Powerball player an overnight millionaire
The winner chose to remain anonymous.
BISMARCK – A lucky North Dakota Powerball player became a millionaire this weekend, winning $1 million in Saturday night’s drawing after matching five white balls.
The winner, who is from Walhalla, was quick to claim the prize and chose to remain anonymous. The winner did say the winnings would go towards retirement, according to a press release from the North Dakota Lottery.
The ticket was sold at Walhalla Cooperative Oil, 1700 Highway 32, in Walhalla. Walhalla Cooperative Oil will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning Powerball ticket.
The winning numbers were 5, 8, 17, 27, 28 and the Powerball was 14. The Power Play multiplier was 3.
“We are extremely excited to begin 2021 with a million dollar prize winner,” said Randy Miller, director of the North Dakota Lottery.
