The city of Hatton is asking its residents to reduce their water usage and ensure that sump pumps are being discharged into yards and not into the sewer mains as the lift stations are not able to keep up with the heavy flows.
The request remains in place until further notice, according to a statement released by Ben Naastad, project manager for Naastad Brothers Inc., a company that provides sanitary and storm sewer services.
