Festival buttons for Crookston Ox Cart Days events are available at Hugo’s Family Marketplace in Crookston for $5 each, event organizers have announced.

The Ox Cart Days festival, set for Aug. 16-22, will feature more than 70 events for attendees of all ages.

The event will feature a wide range of activities and entertainment including the Classic Cruisers Car Show, pony rides, an ice cream social and circus-themed performances by trapeze artists, fire dancers and stilt-walkers.

A street dance with the rock tribute band Snake Oil will be held Aug. 21 and an ATV/UTV Mud Run is set for Aug. 22.

A variety of food options include Taste of Crookston, the Food Truck Fest, Rib Fest, wood-fired pizza and a pancake breakfast at the Fire Hall.

New events include the Mark Anderson Memorial Comedy Open Mic Night, Dewey Thorbeck book-signing, the University of Minnesota Crookston UTOC Arena dedication, Ox Cart Days Road Rally, balloon artist and cotton candy, United Way of Crookston Beach Bash, Minneschlagen Tournament, “Loon” movie premiere, Community S’mores with fire tables designed by Travis Oliver and Crookston High School students, Goat Yoga, National Guard rock climbing wall and the Blue Line Club Drop and Shoot Fun Booth.

Returning favorites include Summer Arts Safari Youth Theater, Miss Crookston pageants, Hugo’s Supermarket Sweep, Veterans Recognition Ceremony, Medallion Hunt, Kids Tractor Pull, C-Town Mini Golf, Lip Sync Contest, Ox Cart Run, an arts and crafts show, torchlight parade, Build a Buddy Workshop, Video Games on the Big Screen, Grocery Bingo, bounce houses, fireworks and the Kids Lemonade Stand Contests.

The festival has been made possible by community sponsors, said Jess Bengtson, event chairperson.
