Students in grades 6 to 12 are invited to participate in a free "Children's Art Weekend" on Saturday and Sunday at the East Grand Forks Campbell Library.
All supplies will be provided.
No experience or art skills are necessary, but advance registration is required, said Andrea Lorenz, the library's program coordinator
Barbara Benda Nagle, a professional artist and instructor who lives in Moorhead, will lead the sessions, each of which is limited to 18 students.
A one-hour session, titled "Experimenting with Acrylic Mixed Media Collage," begins at noon Saturday. Another session, which runs from 2 to 3:45 p.m. Sunday, is titled "Seeing Things Differently: The Short Course in Sketching."
Nagle also is offering lessons for children in kindergarten through grade 5 during this event, but those sessions are full, Lorenz said.
The Children's Art Weekend is funded by a grant from the Northwest Minnesota Council on the Arts, she said.
For more information or to register, visit the library at 422 Fourth St. N.W. or call (218) 773-9121.
