East Grand Forks Officer Felicia Znjada took two girls from New Heights Elementary School to school in her patrol car on Tuesday, Sept. 3.

Kids in East Grand Forks got a lift to school today -- for their first day.

Four students -- including two little girls at New Heights Elementary -- got to ride in the backseat of a patrol car to class. During their ride -- police talked with the kids about how they can stay safe.

The kids, whose names were drawn from a hat on Monday, Sept. 2, say they had a fun ride to school.

"The officer was really nice," said Aubrey Schuh, a second-grader at the school.
