Girl Scouts-Dakota Horizons will celebrate the grand re-opening of its Grand Forks service center, 2525 DeMers Ave., on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

The event is from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at 4 p.m. The free event is open to the public and activities will include tours, door prizes, retail store discounts, cake and refreshments. There is a free giveaway for the first 30 girls to attend the event.

“Girl Scouts serves over 650 girls in Grand Forks and the surrounding communities, giving them the tools to lead, break barriers and create positive change,” said Marla Meyer, CEO of Girl Scouts-Dakota Horizons. “We’re excited to share a fresh, new space with our Girl Scouts and dedicated volunteers as they unleash Go-getters, Innovators, Risk-takers and Leaders together.”

Any parents and girls interested in learning about Girl Scouts or how to join a troop are invited to attend a Get to Know Girl Scouts recruitment event at 6:30 p.m. in the office.

The remodeled space has four full-time staff, a meeting space for Girl Scout troops and community, a training room and a retail shop.
