West Fargo Sheyenne sweeps East Region tennis titles
FARGO — Saturday was a first for West Fargo Sheyenne senior Preeti Chemiti and freshman Mimi Gu. The two had never had to stop a tennis match because of an alarm going off, but a tennis ball set one off at Courts Plus on Saturday, as the two were playing for an East Region doubles title.

Detroit Lakes 8-year-old checks running a half-marathon off his to-do list
FARGO — Blayne Smith twice mentioned in his classroom work at Roosevelt Elementary in Detroit Lakes, Minn., that he wanted to run a half-marathon with his mom. He wrote it on a to-do list before he's 12 and on a list for his goals for 2019.

FARGO — If it weren't for a friend convincing Bonnie Jules to do a 50K marathon in Brighton, Colo., in 2017, she would have never met Edward Broadnax. On Saturday, before the Sanford Fargo Marathon, the two got married on a stage in front of the starting line.

FARGO -- The yearly drive to Willmar, Minn., for a cross country meet is not something Fargo North sophomore runner Josh Beck has ever done on the bus with the team. He drives separately with his parents because he needs a pillow to bury his face into when signs for Exit 55 or Exit 67 appear heading west on Interstate 94.
