WINONA, Minn. -- The Winona County Board has voted to require county employees to stay at hotels where pay-per-view pornography is not available.
KAGE-AM reports the vote was 4-0 with one abstention today. The station says supporters call it a step toward reducing sexual and domestic violence.
Under the policy, Winona County employees traveling on business will be reimbursed only for hotels on a list developed by the Minnesota Department of Health of 480 establishments that don't offer pay-per-view pornography.
The model policy is being promoted by the Minnesota Men's Action Network, which was initiated by the Health Department to work against sexual violence.
A move to mandate porn-free hotels for all state employees failed in the Legislature last session.
