The new Starbucks at the corner of South Washington Street and DeMers Avenue is one step closer to opening.

All but one sign was installed at the new location late Wednesday afternoon.

Signcrafters Outdoor, a Minneapolis-based company, was installing the sign in the most prominent position above the sidewalk along Washington Street.

"One person already tried the drive-thru," installer Jorden Koch said, adding that Signcrafters' job is almost done.
An opening date for the new Starbucks was not yet available, but a spokesperson said the new coffee spot will have improved parking and a drive-thru.
Property records show the new location has nearly twice as much square footage as the current store on Washington Street.
The new corner location formerly housed Dickey's Barbecue Pit, which closed in 2015.
