The Small Business Administration recognized local SBA leader Eric Giltner with an award for his work with veterans.
Giltner was awarded with the 2018 Boots to Business Instructor of the Year award.
The Boots to Business course helps prepare service members, veterans and their spouses for the transition from military life to the business world. In 2018, the Boots to Business program saw 86,000 participants, according to the SBA.
The Boots to Business program is part of the entrepreneurial track of the Department of Defense's Transition Assistance Program.
The award recipients were chosen based on their preparation and instructional methods.
"Eric does an outstanding job in working with our local veteran community year after year," said SBA North Dakota District Director Alan Haut. "He also served on a nationwide committee to rewrite the curriculum for the Boots to Business program. His impact is being felt across the nation."
