Simply Mac, the largest Apple specialist in North America, offers the same products and services as Apple stores, including live interactive displays and Apple specialists to assist customers.

The 2,100-square-foot store will be about half the size of a typical Apple Store, according to an email from West Acres Marketing Manager Alissa Adams.

“Simply Mac has the support of Apple, and the two companies work together to identify markets with numerous Apple customers,” Adams wrote. “Simply Mac focuses on expanding in small to mid-sized markets, such as Fargo, that lack the presence of an Apple store.”

Apple has consistently ranked among the top customer requests for new stores in West Acres.

There are 23 Simply Mac stores in 10 states, according to simplymac.com. This appears to be the first store in the tri-state region.

The company, founded in 2006, has headquarters in Salt Lake City. The Apple reseller was acquired by GameStop in 2013.

Bob’s Photo and Union State Bank will close at the end of June, Adams said.

Bismarck-based Bob’s photo opened in West Acres in late 2012. Its Bismarck store will remain open.

Company founder Bob Dolajak said he would have liked to have remained in the Fargo mall, but mall management needed that space and vacancies are rare.

Union State Bank announced in late March that it was consolidating locations and would close the West Acres branch. It was one of the original tenants of the mall.
