Polaris Industries, which has a plant in Roseau, Minn., reported Tuesday that its net income in fiscal year 2012 was up 37 percent compared to the previous year.
The Medina, Minn., -based maker of ATVs, snowmobiles and motorcycles said net income totaled $312.3 million on sales of $3.2 billion. Total sales were up 21 percent.
Sales of ATVs and other off-road vehicles were up 22 percent to $2.2 billion, motorcycles were up 64 percent to $240.2 million, snowmobiles were up 1 percent to $283 million, and clothing and accessories were up 13 percent to $460.8 million.
The company said it expects total sales to grow 7 to 10 percent this fiscal year for a total of $3.4 billion to $3.5 billion. It expects to see growth in clothing and accessories, expected to be up 20 percent, and motorcycles, expected to be up 25 to 35 percent. ATVs are expected to grow in the single digits and snowmobiles to shrink in the single digits.
