WOODBURY, Minn. -- Another iconic Minnesota restaurant has shut its doors one final time after Old Country Buffet employees arrived at the scene of a U-Haul truck parked outside of the Woodbury restaurant.
Woodbury's Old Country Buffet was one of 74 underperforming restaurants that closed Thursday, including six other locations in the Twin Cities.
Half of the Old Country Buffet locations in Minnesota closed, apparently without warning. Woodbury's Old Country Buffet employees arrived expecting to work, while the managers had hired a round of workers a few weeks ago.
The chain of buffet restaurants is based in Eagan, Minn.

Until Thursday, a few states boasted of more Old Country Buffet restaurants than Minnesota, which had 14.
Old Country Buffet restaurants in Burnsville, Maple Grove, and Coon Rapids remain open.
