The state had 15,901 open and available positions last month, which was also 4.7 percent lower than October. North Dakota had 20,324 job openings in November 2014.

Job openings were down 52 percent in the northwest region of the state, which includes Williston and Watford City, among other cities affected by the Bakken oil boom. That region had 1,072 job openings last month, down from 2,243 in November 2014.

Still, the state had one unemployed person for every two job openings as of October, according to the Job Service report.
