The Great Plains Land Expo, which aims to "demystify investments in natural resources," has been scheduled for Nov. 20 at the Holiday Inn in Fargo, organizers said.

The Great Plains Land Expo, which aims to "demystify investments in natural resources," has been scheduled for Nov. 20 at the Holiday Inn in Fargo, organizers said.

Interest in such investments has grown as the state's agriculture and energy sectors booms, but investing can be complicated, they said.

"Anyone with a vested interest in land -- including land owners, land developers, mineral interest owners, investors and farm operators -- will profit from their learning at this conference," said Kevin Pifer, CEO and president of Pifer's Auction & Realty.

Pifer's and the Forum of Fargo-Moorhead are presenting sponsors of the event.

Keynote speakers are Mark Dotzour, chief economist of the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University, and Stephen Barth, a motivational speaker, author, attorney and professor with the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management at University of Houston.
