FARGO -- Hard Charge, the Fargo-based company that sponsored obstacle races across the nation, has ceased all business operations.
A message posted to its website said the company was filing its Notice of Intent to Dissolve and that all events are canceled.
It goes on to say “Due to our current financial situation Hard Charge is unable to provide refunds to any athlete who has registered for an event.”
Joy Clauson of Morton, Ill., was registered to participate Sept. 20 in Peoria, Ill. She had recruited 30 people to join her to raise money for a children’s hospital.

While she is concerned about the registration fees, she wants answers about donations to the hospital through the Hard Charge site.
Clauson also says she is angry because she received several emails recently telling her to get her team registered soon because the race was nearly full.
It appears the Hard Charge held June 14 in Fargo was the last event. In addition to Peoria, races were planned in Chicago July 19 and Des Moines, Iowa, August 2.
According to media archives, Hard Charge was started in 2012 by Greg Lang and Mark Schlader. Attempts to contact them have been unsuccessful.
