ELLENDALE, N.D. -- North Dakota U.S. Sens. Heidi Heitkamp and John Hoeven have announced $400,000 in federal funding for updates at the Ellendale and Jamestown airports.
The Ellendale Municipal Airport will receive $300,000 to rehabilitate the current runway lighting system to improve safety for pilots during low visibility conditions.
Jamestown Regional Airport will receive $100,000 to reduce hazardous wildlife attractants and improve safety through wetland mitigation.
“Many of our regional airports have felt the stress of North Dakota’s population growth, but with strong federal investments – like these funds provide – we can continue to make sure all North Dakotans are safe,” Heitkamp said.
