Crookston mulls splash park location

Crookston officials are considering building a new splash park on the same property as the Crookston Community Pool.

To do that, it might mean the city would have to purchase the pool from Crookston School District, according to a report in the Crookston Times.

The indoor pool has been closed for the past few months for maintenance.

A local organization has already raised about $50,000 toward the project to build a 500-square-foot splash park. It now is seeking donations to pay for its operation for the first three years.

Crookston officials and residents have been considering other potential sites for the splash park, including Castle Park and the Highland Complex.
