Niles takes director role at UND Children’s Center

Dawnita Niles will be taking over the position of director at the University Children’s Center at UND, effective June 15.

The current director, Jo-Anne Yearwood, has accepted a full-time teaching position with UND’s College of Education and Human Development.

 

The Chamber wins award for membership directory

The Chamber of Grand Forks and East Grand Forks’ 2015 Community Profile/ Membership Directory book has been selected as the Publication of the Year by Mid-America Chamber Executives organization. The award was presented at the MACE Annual Conference in Sioux Falls, S.D., on May 7.

 

 

Morseth earns training certification at TrainND 

Jill Morseth, account specialist at TrainND in Grand Forks, has earned the certified contract trainer designation from the Learning Resources Network.

Morseth began working with TrainND Northeast in July 2013 after a 26-year career with the U.S. Postal Service as postmaster in Larimore, Emerado and Portland, N.D.

 

TrainND hires Follman as account specialist

Matthew Follman has been hired at TrainND Northeast as an account specialist. Follman worked at Bank Forward in Grand Forks as a loan officer for four years before joining TrainND Northeast.

He received a bachelor’s degree in business with specialization in management and marketing from Mayville (N.D.) State University. 

 

Foss receives certification as financial planner

Jessica Foss, a financial adviser with Ameriprise Financial in Roseau, Minn., has obtained the certified financial planner certification. Individuals with the certification agree to meet the ongoing continuing education requirements and uphold the code of ethics and professional responsibility.

Acme Tools hires Shirek as outside sales associate

Chris Shirek has been announced as the outside agricultural sales associate for Acme Tools in Grand Forks. 

He will be responsible for the sale and product support of tools and equipment to agricultural customers in the Grand Forks area. Shirek attended Mayville State University and Northland Community and Technical College, majoring in business. 

 

Baumgarten joins Grand Forks Herald as news editor

April Baumgarten has been hired as the Herald’s news editor. 

In her new role she will work with the paper’s editorial team in planning and editing stories and supervising reporters.

Her previous journalism experience includes reporting and editing for North Dakota papers in Dickinson, Hazen and Center. She is a native of Belfield, N.D.
