Grand Forks potato growers Black Gold Farms has increased its sweet potato acreage with the purchase of the largest sweet potato producer in the Mid-South, it announced this week.
Dawson Farms of Delhi, La., will add to Black Gold’s volume of potatoes for the processing industry and allow it to enter the sweet potato table stock market, the company said in a press release.
Black Gold also grows sweet potatoes near Oak Grove, La., and employees of Dawson Farms will join its staff there.
