FARGO - An online furniture company that lists a Fargo apartment as its address is the subject of Better Business Bureau investigation. The BBB has received several complaints about www.onsalefurnituredepot.com . The Web site no longer appears to be operational.

Five complainants paid $500 to $1,100 for furniture, such as bedroom sets and outdoor swing sets, that was never delivered, said Dan Hendrickson with the Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota. Customers sent money through Green Dot MoneyPak, a money transfer service. Once money is sent, Green Dot cannot provide refunds. The customers, most from other parts of the country, also said messages left with the company over phone and e-mail have not been returned.

The OnSaleFurnitureDepot.com domain owner is as Natalie Ramberg and the owner address is listed at a south Fargo apartment. Public record searches indicated Ramberg lived at that address in 2008. The listed owner phone number does not belong to Ramberg, said a woman who answered a call to that number. The woman, who declined to give her name, said she had never heard about the furniture company until she started receiving angry phone calls in October.

A phone number that had been listed on the OnSaleFurnitureDepot website was routed to voicemail. Messages left on the site by the Better Business Bureau and The Forum were not returned.

The Better Business Bureau expects other complaints to be filed, Hendrickson said. Online forums show several other people reporting similar circumstances.

Fargo Police had not taken any reports on the business, Ramberg or the Fargo address as of this morning, Sgt. Mark Lykken said. Hendrickson said he planned to contact the police department.

"Where there's smoke there's fire. There's plenty of smoke here," Hendrickson said.
