North Dakota Bankers Association has named
John A. Schumacher recipient of the 2013 Graduate
School of Banking at Colorado / North Dakota Bankers
Association (GSBC/NDBA) Future Leader Scholarship.

Bank, will receive a scholarship toward the
tuition for each of the three years of the
Graduate School of Banking program in
Boulder, Colorado.
The GSBC/NDBA scholarship is made
available annually to an individual who has
demonstrated outstanding leadership and

a commitment to his or her community
and to the banking industry.
"John recognizes the importance of continuing
his education to help his clients and the community
he serves," said Marlene Daniels, Vice President of
Marketing and Human Resources at American Federal.
Schumacher has 14 years of experience in financial services,
ag and business lending and management. He is

the Chief Volunteer Officer for the Altru YMCA, a finance
committee member for Special Olympics North Dakota,
and served as past president of UND Letterwinners Board
of Directors. Schumacher grew up on his family's farm
near Reynolds, North Dakota.
Schumacher earned a Business Administration degree
and a Masters of Business Administration from UND. He
resides with his family in Grand Forks.
