Altru received an American Heart Association award for stroke care on Monday.
The health system was awarded the Get with The Guidelines Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Gold Plus Achievement Award, according to a news release from Altru.
A representative from the American Heart Association presented the award at Altru at noon Monday.
To earn the award, Altru had to meet specific quality measures, such as evaluation of proper use of medications and education for patients on how to manage their health after being discharged from the hospital.
Altru also received the association’s Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite award. Hospitals must meet quality measures development to reduce the time between the patient’s arrival and treatment to win this award.
