VERGAS, Minn. — Over a period of more than 30 years, Keith Kicker built himself a one-of-a-kind collection of vintage tractors that included Old Cases, rare John Deeres and vintage Masseys.

No one knows for sure how old they all are, but there are more than 200 in the collection.

“I didn’t know there were that many (and) I don’t think he knew there were that many," said his wife, Cheryl Kicker.

When Keith started his collection, he completely remodeled his treasures, but eventually, his taste in tractors changed and he started trying to keep them as close to original as possible.

“It shows the history and tells its own stories," Cheryl said.

Keith died in February after a battle with leukemia and now the collection he was so proud of is up for auction.

Cheryl hopes someone else can enjoy her husband's treasures the same way he did.

“It’s sad; I've seen these tractors for years," she said. "It’s kind of the end of an era for me."

The auction started online several weeks ago and ends Tuesday, Oct. 15. On Saturday, Bidders can come to an open house for a chance to check out the tractors and make bids. There is a large collection of tractor parts and implements that will be auctioned off as well.

A full list of auction items can be found on this website.

“It’ll be nice to have people come out and see what he collected and what his passion was," Cheryl said. "I think having his memory live on is going to be a nice thing."
