WASHINGTON -- North Dakota farmers will soon be able to sign up for two major agriculture programs.
Farm owners will have a one-time chance to update base acres and program yields from Monday through Feb. 27. Farmers then will choose to enroll in the Agriculture Risk Coverage and Price Loss Coverage programs from Nov. 17 to March 31. The selection will remain in effect for the crop years through 2018.
The third and final step begins in mid-April 2015 and runs throughout the summer of 2015, when producers will sign contracts to participate in one of the two programs for the 2014 and 2015 crop years.
Producers may work with their local Farm Service Agency office or use an online tool developed by North Dakota State University. That program can be found at www.fsa.usda.gov .
