JLG Architects has hired Mike Schellin to be the Grand Forks-based firm’s principal architect.
Schellin, an award winning architect with more than two decades of experience, was formerly president and CEO of Kodet Architectural Group in Minneapolis. As a principal architect at JLG, Schellin will lead the Community Practice Studio, bringing an extensive background in civic design and public works facilities.
“JLG is adamant about not just building projects, but building and fostering relationships,” said Schellin. “This is a key value that’s deep-rooted in the way that I work, and one of the many reasons I wanted to be part of this great team.”
Schellin also brings a lengthy background in the design process of K-12 public, private and charter schools, as well as non-secular schools. He is a registered architect in Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, Wisconsin and Arizona, as well as a Certified Interior Designer.
Over the course of his career, Schellin has received numerous design awards, including the American Institute of Architects-Minnesota Firm of the Year Award, and AIA National Young Architect Award.
