Starbucks coffee shop on South Columbia Road has temporarily closed due to the coronavirus.

As cases of COVID-19 continue to spread throughout the county, other locations of the coffee shop chain have had to close as well. Some, however, have reopened.

An employee at the Starbucks near the Washington Street-Demers Avenue intersection said the coronavirus is to blame for staffing troubles and changing hours of operation. As of 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18, that location was the only one in town open at that time, though the location on 32nd Avenue South is expected to open at 3 p.m.

According to the employee, the Columbia Road location is expected to open by the weekend.

Calls made to the Starbucks location inside Target went unanswered.
