Customers in East Grand Forks now have another option when it comes to having meals delivered to their homes, as delivery service Bite Squad has expanded its operations.
Along with moving across the river, the company has expanded its delivery range in Grand Forks to within a nine-mile radius of the restaurant the customer chooses. This, in some cases, more than doubles the previous delivery area. Bite Squad works with partnering restaurants to bring meals to customers.
Somewhat surprisingly, the move is related to market research spanning a period of six to eight months, rather than to the coronavirus pandemic. Though restaurants are open to dine-in customers, many people have turned to delivery and takeout meals over concern for the virus.
“When we look at markets, we look at the popularity and the enthusiasm for the market,” said Dean Turcol, media relations director for Bite Squad. “That was the reason for moving over to East Grand Forks and the delivery zone doubling.”
The expansion also means the company is looking to add delivery drivers in the region, Turcol added.
Bite Squad is partnered with more than 20 restaurants in the region. The company came to Grand Forks in 2018, after first opening in Fargo.
