Happy Joe’s Pizza and Ice Cream has closed temporarily, due to an employee having tested positive COVID-19.

The announcement was made in a message sent to the Herald on the morning of Wednesday, May 20. According to the message, once the positive result was made known, management decided to close the restaurant. Employees at Happy Joe’s are in quarantine for 14 days in order to self-monitor for signs of the illness.

The message further states the business is working with Grand forks Public Health and Environmental Services to follow necessary protocols, and the business will be disinfected before reopening.

The pizza shop will reopen on May 30 for pick-up and delivery service.
