GRAND FORKS — The Grand Forks Herald sat down with Brooke Flood, owner of 701 Shine, for 5 Questions this week.
Q: What inspired you to start 701 Shine?
A: I enjoy cleaning and helping others. I was actually a CNA for over 10 years, and that's a rewarding job helping people, and I did cleaning here and there between those times. I just decided I'm going to go do it on my own (and) help others in a different way.
Q: What kind of cleaning services do you provide?
A: I do one time move-outs, move-ins, daily schedule, weeklies, anything really. I even help people just organize.

Q: Can you describe your cleaning process?
A: If it's a two-level house, I like to start upstairs and then work my way down. Otherwise, it's usually the kitchen. So the kitchen usually takes the most time, so if I get that out of the way, then the rest is easy.
Q: How long can it take to complete a job?
A: It depends on the size of the home. (It’s) roughly three to four hours. It just depends on how big the home is and how much cleaning the person is wanting done as well.
Q: What do you like about cleaning that others might not?
A: I like the satisfaction of the change, seeing something totally disorganized and just a mess, and then when it's all done, everything's just perfect.
