A recent report lists Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s as two of the highest ranked sporting goods and apparel stores in the nation.
The 2019 Retail Reputation Report compiled by Reputation.com, lists Bass Pro Shops as the third most reputable retailer in the United States, with Cabela’s coming in at number 17. The report is based on a pool of over 5 million consumer reviews from Google and Facebook, as well as other review websites. Reputation.com is a business that helps companies manage their online reputations and customer experiences.
“We’re pretty excited to definitely be in the running for that,” said Scott Volk, assistant store manager for Cabela’s in East Grand Forks. “That was pretty cool when we heard about it; it’s a pretty big deal.”
Bass Pro Shops moved up the ranking from 12th in 2018 to third last year. According to the report this puts it ahead of retailers like Target, Costco and Hobby Lobby. Bass Pro Shops trails only Trader Joe’s and The LEGO Store.
“The biggest thing with us is obviously we sell fun,” said Volk. “It’s not like toilet paper and other things that everyone needs. We sell a lot of fun things so that definitely makes our atmosphere in the store pretty fun, too.”
A press release from Bass Pro Shops states that along with Cabela’s, the stores receive more than 200 million visitors annually at their 200 retail locations across North America.
“We are humbled and truly grateful to be singled out by consumers as among the very best in America,” stated Bass Pro Shops founder, Johnny Morris in the release. Morris added that his business owes its reputation to its employees.
In East Grand Forks, Volk agrees.
“We feel we have the best of the best, that’s for sure,” he said. “People that love the outdoors and definitely share that with our customers, too.”
