North Dakota State head football coach Chris Klieman has signed a new six-year contract to remain at the school through the 2021 season.
FARGO -- Hundreds of North Dakota prep athletes packed North Dakota State's Shelly Ellig Indoor Track and Field Facility on Friday for the annual North Dakota Class A boys and girls indoor track and field state meet. Two West Fargo standouts -- senior Kennedi Sand and junior Akealy Moton -- each posted championships at the meet that highlights the indoor season.
BISMARCK -- A second straight perfect season and a third straight North Dakota Class A girls basketball state championship were earned the hard way by Fargo Shanley on Saturday night at the Bismarck Event Center. Shanley was put to the ultimate test by Bismarck Century, which took the No. 1-ranked Deacons to overtime. In the end, Shanley edged Century 73-66. Perfection -- attained. Three-peat -- sealed. State-record winning streak -- extended to 70 games. Dynasty -- cemented.
BISMARCK -- Second-half rallies are becoming commonplace for West Fargo's boys basketball team. For the second straight night, West Fargo put together a comeback in the final 18 minutes to help it claim a victory at the North Dakota Class A state tournament.
BISMARCK--Fargo Shanley's girls basketball team didn't allow Wahpeton the same satisfaction the Huskies gained a week ago, taking the Deacons the distance in the East Region tournament on Friday at the Bismarck Event Center. The Deacons powered their way to a 64-31 victory over the Huskies in the North Dakota Class A semifinals.
BISMARCK--Bismarck edged Devils Lake 77-70 in the North Dakota Class A boys basketball state consolation semifinals on Friday at Bismarck Event Center's Exhibit Hall. Senior guard Connor Hellebust scored 24 points to pace the Demons (16-10). Junior forward Zach Dahlen led the Firebirds with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Devils Lake ends its season 14-12.

The Huskies defeated Mandan 61-50 in the Class A state quarterfinals at the Bismarck Event Center's Exhibit Hall, and now get to play No. 1-ranked Fargo Shanley--a rematch of the East Region semifinals.

BISMARCK, N.D. -- Grand Forks Red River rode the momentum it seized early on Thursday to a 60-48 victory over Bismarck Legacy in the North Dakota Class A girls state basketball quarterfinals at the Bismarck Event Center's Exhibit Hall. The Roughriders shot 55.6 percent (10-for-18) in the first half and led 33-13 at halftime.
After a cool start, Bismarck Century settled into its North Dakota Class A state girls basketball quarterfinal game against West Fargo on Thursday.
