Youth baseball Fargo team in title game: WESTFIELD, Ind. — Jordan Leininger struck out 12 and didn't walk a batter and Fargo is one win away from the Little League World Series after defeating Coon Rapids, Minn., 6-0 Wednesday morning in the Midwest Regional. Fargo is off until the title game Saturday morning at 10 a.m. CST. Fargo scored three runs in the second and with Leininger in control put it out of reach with three more in the fifth. Landon Meier's two-run single was the big hit.
Thompson rallied in the late innings Saturday to beat LaMoure 3-2 and remain the lone undefeated team in the North Dakota Class B American Legion baseball tournament. Thompson will play once-beaten Carrington at 1 p.m. today in the championship game in Langdon. A second title game in the double-elimination tournament will follow if Carrington wins the first game. LaMoure took a 2-0 lead against Thompson with two runs in the top of the fifth inning.
MINOT—Grand Forks exploded for six runs in the final two innings here Saturday to claim a win in the opening round of the North Dakota Class AA American Legion baseball tournament. The sixth-seeded Royals handed No. 3 Bismarck Governors a 9-5 defeat. Brock Reller broke a 3-3 tie in the sixth inning with his second solo home run of the game.

FARGO—Grand Forks Red River handed West Region champion Williston a defeat here Thursday in the quarterfinals of the North Dakota Class A state high school baseball tournament. The Roughriders, the No. 4 seed from the East Region, opened the tournament with a 12-1 win. Coby Tweten and Will Raymond each had three hits to pace the 10-6 Roughriders, with Dane Montgomery, Parker Monette, Mason McPherson and Zach Carolin each driving home two runs. Conner Richardson pitched a complete game, allowing seven hits while striking out eight, to get the pitching win.
