A 47-year-old man arrested after a high-speed chase in Carlton County last November has pleaded guilty to killing a Michigan woman. Gregory Allen Rose was wanted in connection with the stabbing death of Connie Pajunen, 67, in Midland County, Mich., on Nov. 16 when he led both Minnesota State Patrol troopers and Carlton County sheriff's deputies on a chase that reached speeds of up to 95 mph. He was driving a U.S. government pickup truck at the time, which he allegedly stole over the weekend in Wisconsin.
MANDAREE, N.D. – A lightning strike is blamed for a fire at a saltwater disposal well that caused 2,200 barrels, or 92,400 gallons, of produced water to spill last weekend in McKenzie County, the North Dakota Oil and Gas Division said Wednesday. Bosque Disposal Systems reported the incident on Monday that occurred on Saturday at a saltwater disposal well about 7 miles northwest of Mandaree.The entire spill was contained on the location and has been recovered, state officials said.

A 52-year-old Chisholm man was killed when the semi he was driving rear-ended another semi on U.S. Highway 53 Monday afternoon, the Minnesota State Patrol reported. Both semis were traveling north at the time of the crash, which occurred at around 4 p.m. just south of Canyon. The driver of the second semi, a 39-year-old man from St. Joseph, Minn., was not injured, the State Patrol said. Authorities have not released the name of the victim or any other details about the crash.
FARGO - The owner of the Bison Turf says he can repair much of the fire damage at the bar and restaurant and reopen the northside landmark in 30 days, provided he gets quick action from city inspectors and his insurance adjuster.
