FARGO -- Forestry crews were busy across much of the region picking up tree limbs, including one that left about 4,000 Xcel customers without power early Monday, but cleanup was easier than anticipated given the more that 50 mph wind gusts Sunday night into Monday.
FARGO - High winds predicted to last through this afternoon have closed Fargo's landfill for the day, city officials said Monday. Fargo City Landfill Supervisor Paul Hanson said the landfill at 4501 7th Avenue North will be closed through Monday, October 12th due to extreme wind conditions. During high winds, debris from trucks can't be maintained and often blows away from the landfill, Hanson said. Residential garbage collection will continue as scheduled. The landfill is set to re-open Tuesday.
