A teenage girl wants to be tried in adult court on felony-level charges after she was accused of lying to police about helping to steal a car with a group of friends who then drove it into a downtown hotel in a drunken joyride. Brianna Marie Higdem, 17, was charged Oct. 14 in Cass County District Court with one count of conspiracy to commit unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a Class C felony, and one count of giving false information to law enforcement, a Class A misdemeanor. Cass County prosecutor Kimberlee Hegvik said Higdem voluntarily chose to be transferred into adult court Sept. 30.
