Langstaff was having a hard time with substance abuse and “just wanted to party” and needed a break, the friend told police. The 4-week-old baby boy was pale, listless and sleepy when Langstaff dropped him off, the friend said, but when she called Langstaff to tell her about the child’s condition, Langstaff said the baby had been that way for a while.
